OUR PHILOSOPHY AT THE MANEGE DES HOUX
Surrounded by nature, the Manège des Houx, headed by Catherine LAURENTY, is a haven of peace dedicated to the love of horses and equestrian arts. The facilities of this private family-owned manège are designed to enhance the welfare of horses whether they are bred, trained or used for teaching.
The main concern in learning groundwork and ridden work is to strive towards an equestrian ideal built on a solid foundation without making any concessions or compromises; behaving ethically to horses is a priority. Private lessons, group lessons, clinics, sharing individual experiences provide inspiration and motivation for a long-term commitment to hard work.
In our riding, we aim at staying true to the principles of classical equestrian art.
WHY RIDING SCHOOL HORSES?
Learning on a variety of horses is so valuable. I think it is important that you ride trained horses in addition to your own horse. To acquire training, one must “feel” and feel many different things. A trained horse, even if it is not trained in Haute Ecole, will respond properly to the correct aid.
The strengths and weaknesses of school horses will help us increase our knowledge and fine-tune our aids.
